2020 was an ultimate year of change on a collective and individual level globally. With that change came a lot of loss and in many cases pain. The whole world has witnessed a major shakeup to its foundations and as humans we were enveloped with our losses and those of people around us. To many, change happened forcefully and abruptly and we were not ready for what was coming. Our lives were filled with uncertainties and we had to adapt to the constant transformations and interruptions to our plans and desires. Consequently we had to let go of many things that were valuable to us and that shaped who we are. A year has passed and even though the tide is turning, the uncertainties remain and the present is shaky. At BATS, we felt that arts practitioners need a space to stop, introspect, connect and express themselves in order to support communities around them.
